Accommodations
We provide modern cabins with private bathroom stalls and showers. Our cabins are spacious with plenty of cubby space and shelving for everyone. All cabins have screen windows and fans to keep our campers cool. Campers sleep on a comfortable mattress – never on the top of a bunk bed. Each cabin is equipped with hardwired smoke detectors and fire extinguishers for safety. Campers and staff decorate and personalize each cabin to make them feel like home!
Lakefront: What is better than one beautiful lake? TWO. We have two lakes at Nock-A-Mixon: One is for general lake activities (canoeing, kayaking, fishing) and 3 large inflatable attractions; our second lake is used exclusively for Aquaplaning! Aquaplaning is our most popular activity at camp. Campers have a blast riding on an inflatable tube a getting pulled by a Jetski!
Mini Golf: Our newly renovated 18 hole mini golf course is unlike any course you have ever seen at a summer camp.
GaGa Courts: Four covered, (yes covered!) courts allow for GaGa fun all throughout camp even on rainy and hot days. All of our courts also have lights for fun evening games as well.
Canteen: Not only is our canteen the spot for all the goodies and snacks at camp, but it is also one of our original camp buildings dating back to the early 1900’s. In addition to the sweets, our canteen is still used as a camp meeting and activity space throughout the summer and is equipped with a projection screen and stage.
Pool Area: We have three heated pools, one of which is Olympic sized. In addition, we have two giant water slides and a diving well with two diving boards for our campers to enjoy during recreational swim periods.
Dining Hall: Our dining hall is large enough to welcome the entire camp at each meal, furthering our family feel at Nock-A-Mixon. Breakfast is served family style, while lunch and dinner are both served cafeteria style through our three serving lines. We also provide two salad bars and fresh fruit for additional meal options at lunch and dinner. Please see our Health and Nutrition page for more information about our dining hall.
Cabins: Our cabins vary in size, typically accommodating 12 to 14 campers and 4 counselors. Each camper has their own clothes cubby for clothing as well as a side cubby to share with their area-mate and store their bedside belongings. Every cabin has private toilets, showers, sinks.
Arts & Activities Center: With over 9,000 square feet of activity space, our center is home to a multitude of fun and exciting programs. Our art programs include Crafts, Pottery, Woodworking, Glass Fusion, Candle Making and Beading. In addition to the arts, our Cooking, Music, STEM, Spin, and Dance programs are all found inside our Activities Center.
Tennis Courts: We have 10 courts colored and striped for singles and doubles tennis. Camp is a great place to receive tennis instruction and find a match.
Volleyball Courts: We have two all weather courts and one BEACH court. All three can be lit in the evening for some night fun.
Infirmary/Health Center: Our health center is an air conditioned wing that is fully equipped with four private examining areas for doctor screenings, general care and first aid stations, 8 overnight sick rooms, and medicine storage areas. Our 6 Nurses, Speedy & Bernice, and Gary & Staci all live in the infirmary throughout the summer.
Fitness Center: Used solely by our Senior Campers (ages: 13-16) and staff, our fitness center is home to various free weights, workout machines and cardio stations.
Bank Shot Basketball: This is a Nock-A-Mixon favorite that is filled with 14 unique and abstract basketball hoops for our campers to have a blast on. Playing at bank shot is the only time you won’t want to hit nothing but net!
Basketball courts: Camp has 12 full basketball courts…..YES, 12! Four of our basketball courts are enclosed to ensure hoops fun can be had even during rainy and hot days, and each are equipped with electronic scoreboards. All 12 of our basketball courts are enhanced with lighting options for night play.
Hockey Courts: There are five hockey courts at camp. We have four fully covered courts and one outdoor court. All are lit for an optimal playing surface. In addition to hockey games, our courts are often used for various camp games and programs for divisions or even the entire camp!
Adventure Course: Our climbing tower includes four rock climbing walls that are progressively more challenging, a full cargo net and vertical playpen comprised of different elements to ensure a great challenge to our climbers. Once you get to the top of the tower, campers receive the best reward for their achievement by zip lining down! We also have high ropes and low ropes elements for the campers fun.
American Ninja Warrior Course: Established in 2018, our course includes 12 different elements and stations for our campers to reach, stretch and glide through. Many campers who are initially apprehensive about climbing begin here, build their confidence and are then climbing the tower by summer’s end.
Soccer Fields: Our fields include six full length soccer fields and one “mini” field for our junior campers and additional skill work.
Gymnastics Center: Built in 2019, our 3,800 square foot facility is truly top notch. It is fully equipped with a spring-board floor, tumble track, foam pit, balance beams and uneven bars. The new gymnastics center has brought a ton of fun to both our male and female campers.
Aeroball: Aeroball is a unique game that must be experienced first hand! This trampoline based game allows upwards of 12 campers to jump and play at a time. Campers can score points by throwing the pillow ball into their opponents goal. The best part is that the Aeroball site is covered and lit for fun in any weather or time of day.
Nature Center: Who doesn’t love animals?! This hobby area is home to different animals such as pigs, rabbits, chickens, baby ducklings and more. In addition to playing with and taking care of our animals, campers will further their understanding of agriculture as they maintain our camp garden that is full of fruits and vegetables.
Archery: Built on a beautiful safety geared structure, our range has three traditional archery targets and a few dinosaur targets to keep the fun going all summer long.
Batting Cages: A longtime hobby choice for our campers, our batting cages help to perfect any softball or baseball swing through the use of our double stall facility.
Fitness Track: A ¼ mile in length, our fitness track provides a paved running path for our campers that also includes numerous workout stations throughout the course. It’s a great way to stay in shape and prepare for school sports.
Campfire Site: Hearing stories, roasting marshmallows, singing songs, and a large fire pit provide the ultimate campfire environment. Campfires are a key part of the the Nock-A-Mixon tradition.
Outdoor Cooking Site: Each bunk gets to spend a night during the summer at our Outdoor Cooking Site. On the way to the site, our campers and counselors navigate through a fun creek walk before a bbq and s’mores!
Golf Driving Range: Our 16 stall driving range provides over 250 yards of distance for driving and skill work. We also have a 5 hole putting green for our campers to work on their putting and short games.
Amphitheater: Recognized as the 2017 Building of The Year from the National Frame Builders Association, “The Theater” welcomes the entire camp easily for various camp musicals, evening activities and special guest performers! Our young performers also use the theater daily to rehearse for their big show. As an open air and fully covered facility it is the centerpiece of camp.
